Granting logo is one of the activities of the European Commission (EC) \u00a0in the framework of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers focused on improving the attractiveness of researchers’ working conditions . These activities are expected to contribute to increase the number of academic staff of the European institutions.<\/p>

In order to receive Logo\u00a0 the University has to implement principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers to its internal regulations, ensuring a pleasant working environment for scientific and transparent rules of recruitment.<\/p>

The European Commission supports the institutions implementing the principles of the Charter and the Code by organizing meetings and discussions with the institutions involved. In addition, EC promotes such institutions among international organizations and scientists as those that provide the best scientists working conditions and development.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Receiving the HR Excellence in Research Award<\/strong> provides a number of benefits, including:<\/p>

\u2022 significantly increasing the attractiveness of employment at our University by creating a researcher-friendly working environment and ensuring transparent recruitment procedures;
\u2022 promoting the University in international research funding competitions organised by the European Commission, including the European Union\u2019s Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation;
\u2022 promoting the University in national research funding competitions organised by the National Science Centre and the National Centre for Research and Development, as well as in competitions and programmes of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education;
\u2022 the opportunity to publish job vacancies on EURAXESS<\/strong>, the European platform for researchers.<\/p>

In 2005, the European Commission adopted the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers<\/strong>. These documents described the rights and obligations applicable to both researchers and the institutions employing them. Both documents emphasised the need to create good and stable working conditions for researchers at every stage of their careers.<\/p>

The European Charter for Researchers established general principles and requirements specifying the roles, responsibilities and entitlements of researchers, as well as those of their employers and\/or funders. The aim of the Charter was to ensure that the relationship between researchers and their employers fostered positive outcomes in the creation, transfer, sharing and dissemination of knowledge and technological development, while also supporting researchers\u2019 career development.<\/p>

The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers set out general principles and requirements that employers and\/or funders should follow when appointing and recruiting researchers. These principles and requirements were intended to ensure transparency in the recruitment process and equal treatment of all candidates, particularly with a view to developing an attractive, open and sustainable European labour market for researchers.<\/p>

On 29 December 2023, the Council Recommendation of 18 December 2023 on a European framework to attract and retain research, innovation and entrepreneurial talents in Europe (C\/2023\/1640)<\/strong> was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.<\/p>

The Recommendation replaced the previous European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers and introduced an updated European Charter for Researchers<\/strong>, included in Annex II to the Recommendation.<\/p>
